Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi

Met upon arrival early in the morning at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Assistance and transferred to Best Western Meridian for overnight.

Day 2Day 02: Nairobi/Aberdares

Met upon arrival early in the morning at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Assistance and drive to the Aberdares arriving in time for lunch at Outspan Hotel/Similar. Afternoon transfer in the lodge's vehicles to Treetops Lodge/Similar, a unique tree lodge tucked away in the Aberdares Rain forest. Elephant and other game, including the endangered black rhino and the rare bongo, frequent the lodge's flood-lit water hole and salt lick.

Note: Only a small overnight bag is required at The Ark. The rest of the luggage is stored at the Aberdare Country Club at no cost. Warm clothing is advisable as nights tend to be chilly. Dinner in the lodge.

Day 3: Aberdares/Lake Nakuru

Early morning wake up call at Treetops. Transfer back to Outspan Hotel for breakfast. After breakfast retrieve your stored luggage and rejoin your driver guides. Depart and drive to Nyahururu falls for a photo-stop. Still known to many as Thomson's Falls, its waters fall 237 feet making it the country's highest. Continue on south-westerly direction into the Great Rift Valley and check in to your lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park. Lunch in the lodge then there will be time to settle in. In the afternoon explore Lake Nakuru National Park on your game viewing drive. The park, coloured by a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores, is a popular place with visitors as well as locals. Waterbuck are usually sighted along the lake shore, and this is the home of the Rothschild's giraffe. Baboon, impala, buffalo, monkeys, warthog, impala, reedbuck and eland are also resident here. However, the main attractions are the rhinos. The park is a designated rhino sanctuary and it is one of the best places in Kenya to observe them. Both black and white Rhinos thrive here. Besides the greater and lesser flamingoes, the park is home to many other species including, the Great crested Grebe, the black necked Grebe, little Grebe, Pelicans, Cormorant, African Darter, Egyptian Geese, night Heron, Fish Eagle, grey Heron, Marabou stork, Sacred and Hadada Ibis. Day 4Day 04: Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara

Full buffet breakfast in the lodge. Depart and proceed to Masai Mara National Reserve and check in to Mara Sentrim Camp/Similar. After settling in, set out for an afternoon game viewing drive in the reserve. Masai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries, and punctuated by marshes and forests. Certainly the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, this 650 sq kilometer reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere. During the seasonal migrations, Masai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebras that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania. The reserve is home to all the "big five" and it is also possible to observe; baboon, eland, ostrich, bat-eared fox, jackal and cheetah. The rivers abound with hippos and crocodiles. Day 5: Masai Mara

Day 05: Masai Mara Enjoy the entire day in the Masai Mara wild with early morning, mid morning and afternoon game drives. All meals in the lodge. Overnight: Mara Sentrim Camp/Similar. LDB

Day 6 Lake Nakuru/Masai Mara

Day 06: Masai Mara/Nairobi After breakfast drive to Nairobi arriving at The Best Western Meridian/Similar. Lunch not included. In the evening transfer to The Carnivore Restaurant for dinner. After dinner transfer back to your hotel. Overnight: The Best Western Meridian/Similar -,-, B
