Lodge Description

Voyager Ziwani is situated on the banks of the Sante River and offers panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Its fully furnished tents include a spacious patio. Guided game walks and night drives are offered. The tents at Voyager come with wooden floors and a 4-poster bed surrounded by a mosquito net. Each has a modern, private bathroom with a shower and a flush toilet. Home cooked meals, including a large selection of vegetarian dishes, are served at the camp’s restaurant. Bush breakfasts and barbecue dinners are also organised. Drinks are available at the bar, which offers views of the dam.

During the day, guests can visit the tombs of Grogan’s Castle or take a ranch tour of Gicheha Farm. In the evening, Maasaj dancers provide entertainment at Vogager Ziwani Tented Camp. Younger guests can join the Adventurers’ and Young Rangers’ Clubs.

Game drives in Tsavo East National Parks, one of the oldest and largest parks in Kenya at 13,747 square kilometres. Situated in a semi-arid area previously known as the Taru Desert it opened in April 1948, and is located near the town of Voi in the Taita-Taveta County of the former Coast Province. Here the sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilomtere long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East. The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.
